My Top 5 Favorite TED Talks

I love nothing more than a good TED Talk. They are one of the best resources for finding inspiration, learning about new topics and challenging your existing thoughts and perspectives. With so many ideas and information to be shared, and thousands of videos online for free, there is no reason not to leverage this resource.

Having watched a few hundred TED Talks over the last few years, I wanted to call out my top 5 favorite. These are the videos that I come back to time and again to refocus and get motivated or find inspiration. Some blog posts on Admin Hero have even been inspired by some of these and other TED Talks.

So, let's get to it! I hope you enjoy these 5 TED Talks as much as I do.

How to Start a Movement

This is one of my favorites. For those of us who are and have embraced our roles as change agents will as well. Creating a movement doesn't require a whole lot. Just a willingness to be the one to get things started.

In this talk, Markaret Heffernan expresses the power and importance of disagreement in our personal and professional lives and how we can leverage disagreement to challenge ourselves and become better at what we do.

The Power of Vulnerability

Brene Brown is a professor studying human connection. In this talk, she explores how vulnerability makes us all human. Inspiring and funny, I think you'll like this one.

The Transforming Power of Classical Music

I first heard about this TED talk in book about inspiring talks. I decided to watch it and loved it. Even if you are not a fan of classical music, I think you'll enjoy this passionate and funny talk about the power of music.

Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are

Body language is a powerful non-verbal communication mechanism and it's something that I've talked about here on Admin Hero about before. This fascinating talk by Amy Cuddy provides a fascinating look into her research and will help you better understand how to leverage your body language to improve your non-communication skills. This is one talk that I watch on a regular basis!
